Civix Planners and Engineers recently obtained a non-notified Resource Consent for a new development of Student Accommodation units in Dunedin. 

The steep site required creative design solutions by Collingridge and Smith Architects, and inputs from a range of technical specialists to ensure the design will be functional for future residents.

The comprehensive application prepared by our team saw no formal requests for information issued under s92 of the RMA, enabling technical matters to be worked through on an informal basis, and largely deferred to later development stages via conditions of consent. This approach lead to a more streamlined consenting process.

The new development will be one of the first taking advantage of the new District Plan that seeks to aid in the intensification of the City of Dunedin.
