Civix planners recently obtained consent for a new beachfront dwelling in Manly. Working alongside Ponting Fitzgerald Architects (https://pfa.nz/), the modern design aims to protect existing trees, including a large pohutukawa, and add upper level planter boxes to blend into its coastal setting. The proposal sought to keep the rest of the site as grassed lawns, including for the vehicle access and driveways, which is not a standard arrangement under the Auckland Unitary Plan. The application was processed without any s92 requests from Council, reflecting the comprehensive application prepared by the consenting team.
