About the role:
As the sole System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our entire IT systems and infrastructure. Your role will involve ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT environment. You will work independently to support our organisation's technology needs and provide technical expertise across all areas of IT. In this diverse role, you will provide support both on-site, remotely to our other offices, and on occasion onsite support to our other locations as we expand. A strong focus of this role will be hardware and installation provisioning and supporting our end-users with day-to-day troubleshooting and expertise.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
On-site Support
Provide support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Install, Configure and maintain computer networks, servers, and related IT infrastructure.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Employee onboarding and offboarding.
IT Procurement Support:
Research and recommend best-in-class hardware and software solutions based on performance and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes and manage procurement processes.
File Storage Administration:
Oversee the structure, security, and sharing settings of our file storage platform for effective file management.
Implement access controls and monitor storage usage.
Microsoft 365 and MS Entra (Active Directory) Administration:
Manage user accounts, security groups, and access policies in Microsoft 365 and MS Entra.
Configure and maintain Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint settings.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and conduct regular audits.
Recover emails and messages.
Endpoint Management Platforms:
Administer and support Intune or other PC management platforms for device compliance and security.
Deploy software updates and manage endpoint security settings remotely.
PowerShell Scripting:
Create and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating routine tasks such as user provisioning, backups, and system monitoring.
Troubleshoot and resolve script-related issues efficiently.
Cybersecurity:
Update and implement cybersecurity procedures, policies, and protocols.
IT Inventory Maintenance:
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and accessories.
Track the lifecycle of IT equipment to optimize replacements and upgrades.
Excel Diagnostics:
Troubleshoot complex Excel spreadsheets using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
Resolve issues with in-house Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

Experience with AI technologies and their implementation is a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, and managed networks.
Experience in managing Microsoft Azure AD and general software licensing management.
Knowledge of device troubleshooting, device management platforms such as Intune or Pulseway, VPN and networking, SoftEther VPN or similar VPN.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, procedures and practices.
Provide advice, drive initiatives to improve IT Infrastructure
Be willing to assist with employee onboarding
Be willing to provide training and communications related IT security to staff.
Basic web development using CMS platforms a bonus but not essential.
A full New Zealand driver’s license.
Must hold a valid New Zealand work visa, residency, or citizenship.
